‘Memba how in my last post I talked about getting a crew together to chip in for the same limo bus to hit up Odesza in Iowa City on the 24th? Well, turns out that the sick limo bus was booked out. I guess that’s the price you pay when you roll with a crew of Frosted Flakes. Whatevs, I always have so much fun when I roll out with my normal crew o party peeps.
Well, Noah and Kev actually ended up scoring a pair of twin Hummer H2s for a banging deal. Drivers were cool as hell and although we couldn’t stand up and dance our way to the venue, we definitely enjoyed cranking up the stereo beyond what would be best described as a “safe listening level.” We almost didn’t want to hop out of the rides when we arrived in Iowa City.
All I can say is what an experience. Sometimes I just have to pinch myself. I’ve never been the type to care much about money. I think the cool thing is that my friends and I feel like we are rich because we have each other. One of these years, someone is going to decide to grow up and start a family or something, but I feel like I’m a long way off from doing anything as drastic as that. It’s just too much fun living life to its fullest and living in the moment.
I snapped this pic mainly cuz I wanted to brag on the various social media platforms I tend to frequent. Needless to say we had an amazing time. I think we may have to look into regular chauffeured rides. It’s so much easier to truly enjoy yourself when you don’t have to focus on the road. You can focus on your friends and the experience is so much better cuz of it. Not to mention the fact that you don’t have to worry about trying to beg someone to give you a ride home when your obviously in no condition to get behind the wheel.
Our anthem for the evening was Odesza’s “My Friends Never Die,” a relatively newer mix of hip-hop groves and sparkling sunshine. I found myself going about my days bouncing round town to the beat of this masterpiece. Live is all about experiences and this most recent one well not soon be forgotten. That being said, I’m sitting here tickling the keys to iPlayYouListen and I’m finding it difficult to be any sort of productive. Hell, it’s damn near 2am. I should probably just hit the sack and call it a night before I get hooked into something else and before you know it, see the sun shine Saturday morning.
So, with that. Chase out…
